Why I’m Smiling More Confidently

Have you been looking for the right whitening treatment for you? Maybe you’ve tried the whitening toothpastes or the whitening strips. If your one who likes to go to the dentist to do it but the cost is high this blog post if you all especially. Even if you haven’t been searching for one this might be the perfect match for you!

Is It Safe To Use Smile Brilliant?

The short answer is yes. Due to all my dental procedures and being born with a cleft lip and palate I was a little worried. I have awful dry mouth too. Whitening my teeth never affected any of those things. It is one of the safer ways to whiten teeth because it’s not striping away the enamel. The only thing this does is pull way down deep to start removing the stains. I’ve had several dental procedures and surgeries and for me nothing bad or uncomfortable happened. I have very sensitive teeth and Sophia (the girl who led me through this whole process) told me a few tricks. She said to use Vaseline on my gums before putting the trays in. I never had chemical burns or sores because I used Vaseline. There are always some risks with anything but I didn’t experience anything bad or painful.

Reading Impression Instructions

When I got the box the first thing I did was read all the instructions before I got anything opened or out. Then I read how to make the impression. I’ve had a lot of impressions done in my life due to all the dental problems from being born with a cleft lip and palate. I can tell you this didn’t make me gag and I didn’t taste anything at all. You take the base and roll it into a ball and same thing with the blue catalyst. Then you smash them together and keep rolling until it’s all blue. It doesn’t matter which you do first. Also they have an extra in case you mess up. These are mine below I took a picture to Sophia to make sure they looked good before I sent them out. How Much Can I Whiten My Teeth If They Are Sensitive?

You can whiten them daily for up to 3 hours a day. I didn’t make it up that far yet due to my sensitivity. I started 45 minutes every other day and desensitizing after each whitening session. So since that was working I moved up to every day and doing it an hour. After a week or so trying that my teeth were becoming really sensitive. So I talked with Sophia again and she came up with a new plan that has been working wonderfully. I do a 45-1 hour (depending on how my teeth are feeling) whitening session every other day. After each whitening session I had the desensitizing gel for 25 minutes also I would put that on at night so the gel just sat on my teeth during the night. Then on the “off” days we decided to start using the desensitizing gel also. So I was desensitizing my teeth every day. I noticed a major difference when I started doing it that way. I haven’t been able to get to 1 hour and 30 min or 2 hours or 3 yet but I think I will keep at this a little bit each month. You just have to kind of experiment what works for you. They give clear instructions on when to brush your teeth with water vs toothpaste during the gels.

Does This Take A Lot Of Time To Do?

No. I did this at bedtime which is suggested because you’re not eating food or drinking coffee, dark pop etc. It just takes about an hour and 25 minutes of your day. You can do it in the car to really anywhere. I kept a paper towel with me because I didn’t want to swallow the whitening stuff but that was just my personal preference. I would usually watch my favorite TV Show (Schitts Creek) and it would go by fast. I did it once in the daytime and I decided to never do that again, because my teeth hurt the rest of the day from eating lunch and supper. So I just did it at bedtime and it became a part of my bedtime routine. Please make sure you don’t fall asleep with any of the trays on though.

Does This Hurt?

This is really painless. The only thing that could hurt is how sensitive your teeth are/become during the treatment. The only thing that bothered me is sometimes I could taste the whitening gel when the excess came out from the tray. I took q-tips to wipe up all the excess and that was a huge help. The next day your teeth maybe more sensitive but it’s hard to describe that as painful at least for my experience. Since I always used Vaseline I never had burns or sores either so for me this was about 90% painless.

The Whitening Trays Are In Here

Some Common Myths About Teeth Whitening.

One common myth is that you should get instant whitening. I didn’t see improvements until about 2-3 weeks in and that’s normal. I know charcoal and whitening toothpaste are all the rage right now. Charcoal toothpaste can give you almost instant results but do you know why? It’s actually very abrasive in fact it’s not even approved by the ADA (American Dental Association). It’s also not a very long lasting product. I have a whitening toothpaste which I like and it’s much safer than some of the ones I’ve seen. It just adds to my whitening now. I could see results but they wouldn’t last. Now that I’ve been whitening my teeth in addition to this toothpaste it’s like icing on the cake. I know I have seen a lot of celebrities and bloggers talking about the led whitening treatment at home. The thing that pulls people in is it’s easy and you do it for a short amount of time with little prep; and not to mention it’s fairly inexpensive and doesn’t create any tooth sensitivity. So you may be thinking well that product sounds great sign me up. Don’t sign up for this please because the lights in it are too weak to even whiten your teeth properly. I have also seen strips out there and some are ADA approved this however causes a lot of sensitivity. Unlike anything really Smile Brilliant works on taking out your stains on your teeth not just masking it and causing an abrasive treatment. The gel they created goes deep into the pores and pulls out the stains this is more of a permanent solution since you’re removing stains which is also what can cause a little bit of sensitivity. So if you looking for a long lasting whitening product look no further. This option maybe a bit expensive but so is going to dentist a lot. Once you get your trays you have those forever and will just need to order whitening and desensitizing gel if you want to continue with it.

A Few Things I Learned

I’ve been wanting whiter teeth but I knew the products out there were risky and I didn’t want to pay the price at the dentist office. I’m so glad Smile Brilliant reached out to me and I found a product to stand behind and actually use. In fact did you know that your teeth aren’t naturally white they are more grayish or yellow? So Smile Brilliant works on getting your teeth back to your natural color. I’ve noticed a difference which will be shared below. I love that this product goes in and gets rid of my stains in my teeth that have been there for 24ish years. I learned that there is a teeth whitening system out there that works great for me. The customer service I had with Sophia was amazing. We had several conversations and she helped with any questions I had.

Why Will I Continue Whitening My Teeth?

Well for one as I mentioned above they truly care about you and you can ask them anything if you get confused or need advice about your routine for teeth whitening. This is my before and after photo while my teeth aren’t pearly white I’m ok with that. I see a difference in the color of my teeth. Keep in mind I didn’t do it daily and only did 45-1 hour so my results may be a little different. My top teeth have a lot of damage due to being born with a cleft lip and palate but I noticed they looked better. I also have been smiling more confidently even though I’m missing a tooth haha. (I’m getting the rest of the implant placed in November) This has helped me so much in my smile and just overall self esteem. I’m #smilingfearlessly now.
